10/25 MS Physics update and homework due 11/1

Hi folks,

Today we did the "Diabolical Diaper Dilemma".  This is where the students become Consumer Reports researchers and develop a lab to discover which of four diapers holds the most water.  The funny thing is, many of these diapers held over 1 liter of water!!!  I've included a picture of the data that the groups collected today.  There won't be a recording this week since the entire class was taken up with this activity.

For homework this week I'd like you to use the enclosed "Lab Report Template" and write up today's lab.  The template tells you what to do and gives some examples.  Don't hesitate to ask any questions that come up.

ALSO I want you to come up with a testable hypothesis that you can do at home.  Homework for the week after this will be to do an experiment at home and present your findings in class.  We will talk more about this next week but in the meantime, try to come up with a nice easy experiment you can do at home that will take a few days or less to do.  Feel free to email me if you want to see if your hypothesis is on the right track.  Don't worry about the experiment yet, just worry about the hypothesis for homework this week.
