Hi folks,
Today we spent a bunch of time playing with the concept of sound. We saw how sound is created by vibrations. We also created the worlds most annoying musical instruments using straws.
For homework next week please read the "Sound" chapter in the book and do all the questions at the end. Also answer the following questions.
1. Why did we have to cut the end of the straw to get the straw to make a noise?
2. What happened to the pitch of the sound when we made the straw shorter and shorter?
3. Why did cutting holes in the straw allow us to change the pitch of the note?
